Films that make you cry

At the risk of seeming a bit soft (don't tell anyone) this happens quite frequently.

Most notably with 'The Fountain' (Rachel Weiss and Hugh Jackman) which really had me blubbing like a baby and most recently with 'A Monster Calls' (Sigourney Weaver and Liam Neeson) on Netflix in which a young boy conjures a tree spirit to help him come to terms with his mother's terminal illness. Beautifully acted and directed.

So which movies have had you reaching for the Kleenex (not in a pervy way i might add)?

If I’m supposed to cry I will. Even if I’ve seen it over and over. I’m a directors’s dream.

All of the films! I’m a nightmare. I cried at Mary Poppins returns last. Anything vaguely emotional and I’m off!

Hull

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang when Dick sings Hushabye Mountain.

The Railway Children, at the end where the father gets off the train and Jenny Agutter runs up the platform, she says ‘Daddy oh my daddy’ and it makes me fill up every time (even now typing this) because it makes me think about my dad.

I cry way too easily over films, even a good dance on strictly has been known to bring a tear to my eyes,

I also cry when I see babies. . . .so much for my tough biker image!

I'm a bit of an empath and I can cry from watching sad or happy films. I cry reading books and listening to some music and not just the music that has links to a sad point in my life either. Some of the recent crop of xmas adverts have set me off and basically anything that tugs at the heartstrings is guaranteed to set a tear rolling down my cheek. I've been like this all my life and if anything I'm getting worse not better

the 9th life of luis Drax was the last one I watched to get me, it was the relationship with the father and son.

Also a great film called the intouchables , has a happy cry at the end.

Quite a few lately.

Younger years I barely even registered an emotional scene or plot point. Last couple of years, it can be a fairly easy thing to set me off during an emotional scene if the plot as me invested.

Take Inside Out as a prime example; Bing Bong’s ‘death’ - I’m still sodding well traumatised to this day!

I'm like this. I cried at a butterfly last summer because it was so carefree and beautiful!
