So, we’re a week into a new year, I’m sure many of us have set ourselves New Years resolutions..

Mine is that I want to lose a few lbs.

I know there’s ladies out there, that appreciate a dad bod but..............

Having got the shock of my life, stepping on the scales on New Year’s Day, I’ve decided that I need to sort myself out..

More active, less crap in my diet, more fruit/veg etc..

So.........

My question is............

How many of us are getting our five a day?

I’m finding it hard getting all 5, a piece of fruit as a mid morning snack, healthy lunch (followed by another piece of fruit), veggies with dinner etc etc..

Chop a banana on your cereal or have grilled mushrooms or tomatoes for breakfast.

A glass of fruit juice counts as one so you only have to eat four a day.

More often than not, it’s due to lack of time..

I’d usually have porridge/cereal at the weekends, most weekdays I skip it

Fruit is just balls and lumps of sugar. Fruit makes you fat, causes your liver to turn fructose into triglycerides and makes you hungry.

Dump fruit and carbs, the weight will fall off.

Break your fast at any time of the day. It was Mr Kellog that told us breakfast was the best meal of the day. He lied.

Look at intermittent fasting and the dawn phenomen.

Use them to swig down a vitamin tablet and they're pretty much classed as a health drink..

Years ago when I did early starts my stomach just didn't want food first thing, so I used to heat up a pint of milk, chuck a couple of weetabix in and just drink it on the run.

Nope, check out the facts ref intermittant fasting eg 16:8. It accelerates weight loss.

I would try to go for 5 veg a day anyway, and avoid the excess sugars in fruit.

Just been looking at intermittent fasting..

Might give it a go if all else fails..

The 16:8 isn’t far off my current eating regime anyway..

Doesn't mean it's healthy though.

By the way, any nutrition/diet/food 'facts' are all bullshit.

We're in 2019 and people still prove and debunk nutrition facts all the freaking time.

1 day milk is healthy, next day it causes cancer, week after that it's okay to drink again.

Same goes with eggs, red meat, lack of protein diets.

It's all a load of bollocks.

Do you eat them raw ?

I personally would eat more veggies but most of them require cooking and that takes time.

I think I get on average about 15 per day.

Breakfast. If it's a cooked breakfast it's mushrooms. Tomatoes and spinach. I normally have an apple or orange while cooking it.

Lunch is normally salad with a huge variety of veggies. Salad will include grated carrot. Beetroot. Onion.. lettuce.. etc.

Or stir fry veg.

And a piece of fruit at some point too

Tea will always have a minimum of 5 veg and then some fruit to snack on

Hmm I might precook 5 days worth of broccoli then, I love the taste and it's one of the healthiest vegetables I heard.

Apart from most vitamins need food water and fats to be best absorbed and beyond that we need fiber
