That would protect fabbers when they change name over festive period or when they join in various threads to amend username for a laugh.
Having to create a dummy profile is the other option, but not ideal as having a standard grace period of username being attached to profile. | |||

"Not me. This happens every Xmas doesn’t it? As soon as I changed mine I set up a new account with my old name and hid it. I expect the phantom name-nicker got a little surprise if they tried to steal mine when they realised they couldn’t. It was pre-warned in the Christmas names thread. It’s what alerted me to change it. Someone somewhere thinks it’s hilarious (well, it was quite a good joke!) but maybe now’s the time to close all the bogus accounts and release the names again!
Wouldnt one person need about 20 different email addresses. Does each account need its own email. What a faff.
You don’t need a real email address. Just make one up. Eg dhrjjujvsbg@hotmail.com. You can block a username without validating the email. Easily done. "Top tip. | |||
