So, we're all pretty open minded here and I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I've reverse-searched the number and there are a few instances of the same thing happening since Sep. last year - the latest ones seem to be since the end of Dec.

So, long story short, I receive a Whatsapp message today asking if "my family and friends know I visit prostitutes" (in pretty bad English). They screenshot my Whatsapp profile pic and then send it to me (go figure) , then give me the choice of "making a deal" or them personally messaging my family and friends and telling them all of my dirty secrets.

I told them they had the wrong person, they started "counting down" and when I said "do it, I don't care", they didn't reply and so I blocked the number (not before taking screenshots).

I've since reported it to the police and they are looking into it and will get back to me in the next couple of days with an update.

I just wondered if anyone else here has had similar and what you did about it?

No but did you know you can make your profile pic for contacts only? Then only the people in your phone can see it

Oh, I know it's a scam, but doing the search brought up other instances, so I reckon they're going through random numbers etc. I'm not worried, but if I can help to stop at least one of these asshats, it means that there's one less knobjockey out there doing this shit.

Every time I see your pic on here ( I use my phone ) it makes me look twice ! I couldn’t work it out to start !!! Thought you had a massive hairy green bush ha ha !!!

I've had a couple of threatening emails stating that they have recorded me wanking off to porn videos and I have 48 hours to pay 3000 bitcoins or they will send the vids to my family and friends.

Of course these emails go straight to my junk folder and it's normally way past the 48 hour deadline before I see them.

Just chancers who should try getting a life and maybe a fucking job like the rest of us

Yea I've had these emails too. Still makes the heart jump abit. Unfortunately some people will fall for it.

Best just not to reply to this sort of thing. Their aim is to get money if no reply then they have no idea if its been seen and pointless for them to pursue it.

It only spam and the police won't do nothing as it probably coming from a foreign number.
