So, I'm taking mine in a couple of weeks, apparently it has a really high fail rate.

Have you taken yours in the last couple of years, did you have to retake it?

I think you can practice it online. One of my sons who is a real swot would disappear upstairs for a while then come down and tell me how well he had done - for weeks prior to taking it. Mind you, his brother who is more like me and rarely studied for anything passed quite easily as well.

So, OP, don’t worry you will be fine. Relax.

It’s the horrific actual test you need to worry about.

Tried that, phone memory is to small and it won't install direct to the memory card

But have been doing lots of the free online ones and the hazard perception things online

Did mine a couple of years ago ... I didn’t really revise to much into it to be fair make sure you know stopping distances signs and tyre tread depth and the most of it was common sense I passed first time I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed either

You'll be fine, a lot of it just common sense and caution ( hazard perception bit ) been a good few years since I done mine but there will be books/online things you can look at and answer some questions. Hope this helps and best of luck xx

toptests. Co. UK.

Just do all the tests over and over and over till you get it! I passed at home 5 times the day I went for more actual theory. Passed that in 45 mins they give you 90 to do it in!

My son had a go at the online mock test just over a couple of years ago - and would have passed if it had been the real thing as he only got 2 or 3 questions wrong and still had about half an hour left on the timer.

He turns 11 next week.

Admittedly, he probably did one of the easier options, but there really is no reason why anyone should fail with the right preparation.

It's all about reading and absorbing the highway code.

If you practice with the online mock tests (and I would recommend doing several), you shouldn't be at all surprised by any questions that you get when you come to take it for real.

I suspect the reason for the high fail rate is down to driving instructors telling their students to put in for it before they are ready - which I think says a lot about some instructors
