There's yet another thread about bareback and it got me thinking of people's appetite for risk.

So, say there was a version of Russian roulette where you have a hundred guns lined up and only one is loaded. You pick one up, put it against your head and press the trigger. If you haven't picked the loaded one and blown off your head you get £1 million.

Would you play the game?

Is just one gun loaded? 100 guns is a high number of guns thus a low probability of risk if only one is loaded.

Statistics and probability is very poorly taught in schools historically and you can absolutely tell from some of the posts on here!

The number of posts of people who smoke or are overweight talking about people having unacceptable high levels of death risk from sex demonstrates it very well!

The chance they will happen

Transmission of measles 1 in 100

Dying of any cause in the next year 1 in 100

Annual risk of death from smoking 10 cigarettes per day 1 in 200

Getting four balls in the UK national lottery 1 in 206

Well there you go! If you already smoke 10 cigs a day your already 1 in 200 odds of dieing already!
