So what are your favourites?

Currently listening to a live version of FreeBird by Lynyrd Skynyrd... Just over 13 minutes long!

Just after a 10 minute version of Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits!

+1 to Freebird, but wouldn't go to the back window if Dire Straits were playing in me back yard. Got Bowie playing on YouTube at mo

Thank God for vodka to take the pain away

elbow did a fantastic version of "one day like this" with the bbc concert orchestra and chantage, who were radio 3 choir of the year......

i would always advised people to go and hunt it out on youtube....

also they did a fantastically long version of this at to round out the reading festival last year .... it was brilliant...

currently fallen back into Frank Zappa,

live version of yellow snow, pure psychedelic rock.

Also groovy to the lesser know David Ford, his live stuff is awesome.

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

Sadly, I haven`t seen it live and I think the live version is as long as the original or vice versa! Try finding Sabre Dance by Love Sculpture and the live version by Dave Edmunds (formerly the lead guitar fromLove Sculpture!)

Love Frank !

His version of 'Stairway to Heaven' is the funniest thing ever...the horn section playing the guitar solo note for note

At a 1997 gig I saw Bowie & Gail Ann Dorsey do a nigh on 10 minute version of Laurie Anderson's 'O Superman'

15 years later and I'm still not sure if it was shit or brilliant

Tain

New Gold Dream by Simple Minds - numerous live versions, some quite different from the album track - but it is a fantastic song.

And, of course, Sympathy for the Devil live by the Rolling Stones.
