Bad start to the new year

First it's the first anniversary of my dad passing away (16th of January) but this time today I was bring him back on the plane from Bulgaria straight into the A&E, I have a cold from hell (drinking neet rakia with honey and eating raw garlic) in hope to shift it.

And my girlfriend has left me few days ago. And not yet over the first week of the new year. I am guessing unless I have swine flu it can't get much worse then this

I've had flu since NY day and had to take nearly a week off which seeing as I'm a single parent I'll have to make it up somewhere along the lines

If it's any consolation, no, it probably can't get any worse.. so there is that.

I've not lost a parent yet, so haven't felt the sting. I've felt pain before though and getting it off your chest, like you're doing, is the best advice id give xxx

Thanks, yes I think once I get rid of the cold I can deal with the other issues better. But you know what man flu is like.

That's the only thing is I have not had time off yet, I still bike it into to work and slug it out. Lucky I have no childcare issues but I do have fish issues

Thanks yes hugs would be great sadly live on my own and with cold it's not fair to risk putting onto someone else.

Ah that's shitty fella, I'm sorry to hear about this. Dealing with loss and grief is tough, take it easy on yourself.

My mum passed away from cancer, it was small cell lung cancer but because it's in the cells it spreads to bones brain etc. My mum's been gone 9 years this year and was only 47 when she passed away. It never gets any easier I'm sorry to say just think of the good times and I hope things get better for you x

Wow I didn't expect so many replies, sorry can't reply to you all. I knew this month would be hard few days before new year eve (had booked the flight to go over to bring my dad home) so new year was not great. Then the cold and my girlfriend issue kind of exploded at the same time. So for now I am just not going to contact her at all. Just get this cold and next few weeks over with
