I’ve no idea if the higher numbers or lower numbers inside the fridge are the cold ones, to be honest I’m winging it, I stuck it in the middle and hoped for the best.

Me too, looks like that one's missed us all out"

Our toaster kept getting turned up to the highest number and so burning toast. We found one of our daughters thought it was a temperature control and so cooked it faster.

I’m not sure the numbers represent actual minutes but it’s definitely time rather than temp or colour.

I’ve often wondered what difference there was between my £30 toaster and a toaster costing over £100. Now I know! I’m sticking with mine though

Haha I had to ask that the other week! Is it temperature degrees so the lower the number the colder the fridge or level of cold so the higher the number the higher the level of cold?!

I believe the higher the number the colder the fridge is. I know this because once ours was set on the higher number mistakenly and I was finding food at the back of the fridge were freezing so I turned the dial down.

Lol. Some fridges have temperature rather than just numbers and I’d probably trust that more than a fridge thermometer.

I used to work in an instrument repair shop and we tested outside air temperature gauges amongst other things. These were very simple thermometers and varied wildly in accuracy.

The question was why it burns the next one after toasting one to perfection;

That’s because the toaster is effectively preheated, so the time may be the same but it gets hotter more quickly.

Cos its already hot and up to temperature x hasnt got to heat up

Number on dial not minutes.. the kitchen would be on fire if your toast was in 6 minutes x

Very true....as the bread is subjected to more heat for the same amount of time the bread will be toasted more...if using again immediately turn the time cycle down

Some old fashioned toasters have this marked on the timer dial. There is an extra mark a little further round you use for the first set of toast you do.

Because its essentially "pre-heated" when you put the second batch in. The coils are already hot, so it takes less time to get to the cooking temperature, therefore less time to cook

A mate of mine in work had his aged mother and future brother in law round over Christmas and they had an Alexa or whatever they are called in the house. The mother slagged off her prospective son in law off out of his earshot....hours later the Alexa repeated it almost word for word! There Is no way I would have one of those fucking things in our house with some of the parties we host!!!

I once had a wank watching porn when I was 20 in the communal area of a flat.

Didn’t realise the new flat mate was in the next room, thought she was away for the weekend.

Anyway had the porn on, totally naked wanked and cum too. Got dressed again went to wash my hands and I heard her door open few mins later.

Oh my god can this is clarified please.

While the dial on the toaster is effectively a timer, on most toasters they are not calibrated to be actual minutes. Different toasters set to number 3 will pop up at different times.

Suppose that's like going to get a size 10 skirt,in one shop a size will fit in another you can't get it over your backside. The world just doesn't agree on anything... "

At this point in time, sadly the world agrees that I’m not a size 10 anywhere - except perhaps the U.S.

It does depend upon moisture content and type of bread, thickness etc.

The question was why it burns the next one after toasting one to perfection;

That’s because the toaster is effectively preheated, so the time may be the same but it gets hotter more quickly.

Well he didn't say when he was sticking the next one in,but yeah correct.

I only learnt about 6 months ago that when you buy a box of cling film you push the ends to make a stand, to stop it rolling about and making it easier to not get it all wrinkly and a mess. This little revelation has been life-changing.

Also once ate Smash straight out the tin with a spoon. Couldn't go the loo for 3 days as it swelled in my stomach

I have often done snowballing but I never realised I was supposed to roll it round in my mouth into a ball shape first. Sounds tricky. I like standing above some one while they lie on their back with their mouth open and letting it slowly out of my mouth trickle down into theirs.
