Size does matter to a certain extent. If someone is very small, that can be an issue. The same with VWE. Average or well endowed do tend to come down to techinique though... and positions. A big part of thrusting well has to do with him able to read my responses, physical & verbal. I consider myself extremely communicative during sex.
