Physical intimacy for mental health

I've been having a really interesting conversation with someone about this, and thought I'd see what other people think.

A lot of the time there's a lot of focus on the orgasm and 'fucking' - and those are both very good things But good physical relationships can make us feel better about ourselves, our bodies and in general - not just sexual intimacy, but hugs and cuddles too. And of course the knowledge that we are desired by others is a real pick-me-up. And when we're mentally well we're more likely to be physically well also.

I'm not suggesting for a second that sex is the best treatment for mental health conditions, but it struck me that if you're not in a 'serious' relationship of whatever kind, spending time with generous and supportive friends and casual lovers can provide a lot of what you need to keep yourself healthy.

Do people find this, or do you think Fab isn't the place for making those kind of connections?

It has been proven that cuddles are good for your mental well being.

Definitely agree with that idea that physical intimacy can have beneficial effects on our mental health. Never quite remember which things create which chemicals, but is seratonin that all this stuff can produce, which is a naturally feel good chemical?

I agree with what you say.

But there can be a downside to mental health issues in relation to sites like this. People can and have taken advantage of emotionally vulnerable people. Others have found themselves in tricky situations where they were unaware of someone's mental health issues and through no fault of their own have been pursued and to a certain extent harassed when what was originally meant to be a one off encounter by one party was seen by the other as something more.

It's not always the best place for the vulnerable. It can provide the physical contact some struggle to find in normal life but it can also cause a lot of heartache and problems.

Sex is most definitely my therapy, always has been.

I believe it's good for me/us, keeps us fit and active and mentally stronger.

"It has been proven that cuddles are good for your mental well being. "

Definitely. A simple hug, non-sexual, can lift your spirits considerably.

I agree completely with the concept but think fabs is completely the wrong place for it.

I love getting cuddles even if it doesn't lead to sex

Just that skin to skin contact is enough to lift the spirits.

However my sex drive is high so 9/10 It does lead to sex more often that not insisted by my.

If I haven't had a meet in a while I find I get a bit down
