Is this marketing genius, or pie in the sky, has a vegan ever stepped foot in a Greggs and if they did, were they just asking directions to the whole food shop ?

All this and a whole lot more, will be debated in this thread, that is sure to reach 175 comments very quickly, but for now here’s Terry with the weather!

Haven’t tried one yet , but I’m looking forward to doing so .

All they are doing is catering to a demand .

Really?????

The local pastry shop near I work (not Greggs) sells veggie (they might be vegan) sausage rolls. I love them as a Friday lunchtime treat.

I bet vegans go in Greggs for doughnuts.

Talking of which; I was in a Toby Carvery earlier and two women didn't have any meat on their plates. Seems a bit of an expense for a Yorkshire pudding and some taters and veg. There wasn't any vegan gravy either.

I hear having your cock sucked is the remedy for heartburn.

I don't understand why it's even a story? They are a company who want as a big a share of the market as possible, they're targeting vegans with a new product, what's the big deal? It's not on the news when they release something gluten free, is that not kinda the same idea?

The dictionary definition of sausage is "an item of food in the form of a cylindrical length of minced pork or other meat encased in a skin, typically sold raw to be grilled or fried before eating."

I'm off to sue Greggs for misrepresentation

Toby Carvery charge a reduced price for a meatless plateful.

Under the Duvet

The Sayers veggie sausage roll is far superior to the "meat" one.

I'll give a vegan one a try, why not?

Somewhere In The Ether…

Random Sausage Roll Related Fact: Did you know that whilst the modern sausage roll (as we know it today) can be traced back to 18th century France, its lineage goes back far further to Ancient Greek and Roman times?

Fascinating. Yes.

Brilliant publicity even if nobody buys the vegan products.

Very clever strategy.
