I don't use calming music but I do use an app called sleep stories. I find it great it's bedtime stories for adults. Usually starts off with a little bit of mindfulness maybe 30 to 60 seconds. I find it very soothing and calming.

I use Rainrain

It has rain sounds, thunderstorms, crackling fire etc. I find that very soothing and easy to sleep to.

Many years ago I used to be unable to sleep without music playing. Now and then when I feel a bit too stressed to sleep or need to quiet my mind I'll play a looping recording of a thunderstorm and heavy rain. That seems to do the trick and send me off

No. Any sounds at night keep me awake.

I use the radio, various apps with nature noise, pink, white and brown noise. Just to help the ringing in my ears. I could sleep through a disco!

It has to be the right music, have tried those "Dreamy, Sleepy, Nighty, Snoozey Snooze" playlists on Youtube, but I just found myself more annoyed than sleepy.

I like re-listening to podcasts and audio books, something I know well. That seems to do the trick.

Glasgow

I used to listen to music every night, now it’s more occasional, or if I can’t sleep.

Anything a bit chilled or ambient is good, like some Ibiza chill out stuff, or some Sigur Ros or the Cocteau Twins. But my favourite goto go to sleep album is the KLF’s Chill Out Album.

I just downloaded an app to try as it sounds great. Put on a 35 minute story about Yosemite. Got about 10 minutes in and the guy narrating it has such an amazing sexy sounding voice that rather than feel sleepy, it’s made me really horny
