Judging a book....

harrow

Over the last couple of days I have judged a couple of people not intentionally but by my initial chats with them.

What I hadn’t realised that because I hadn’t been my chatty self, I had made some assumptions. I have since realised that people are different taht sometimes they first show; and that my assumptions were wrong

I was thinking that actually I am the same depending on what scenario you meet me. I was wondering how people have made assumptions about people on the scene, got to know them over time and realised they may have been wrong

I try to talk a while before forming opinions of people, but we can't help what first impressions we get.

It depends on how people behave initially and what they say. We have to remember that a snapshot of some one isn't all they are.

If the initial chats don't go well we don't normally have the opportunity to get to know people better. Our experience is that if we aren't offering sexual contact of some kind in the second or third meeting people don't want to take things any further.

When I buy books I always go for the ones with a striking cover.

Under the Duvet

Everyone has conscious and unconscious bias when meeting people.

We all judge others on some level, whether we are aware of it or not.

I do too. I actively avoid ones that show young women in heels with shopping bags and a small dog.

See I'm really boring, I'm usually skulking round the history section looking for books with Elizabeth the first on the cover
