"Young Muslims woke up before dawn today to clean the streets of 50 UK towns and cities as a lot of the country were nursing a hangover. More than 1,000 Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) members held a special prayer then put on hi-vis jackets to go out and collect hundreds of bin bags of rubbish from last night’s celebrations."

Our local town is an utter shit hole today with takeaway wrappers and rubbish all over the place - most probably dropped by d*unks last night.

Should more be done to keep Britain tidy?

Yes it should. I'm not fussed who does it.

I am, it's the responsibility of the persons who's waste it is to dispose of it correctly! The more we clean up after lazy thoughtless people the more they'll be happy to trash this (and any other country).

See I am sceptical about news articles like this

Take a good deed, publish it, then sit back and wait for someone to press that big red 'immigration' button ... and boom, all hell breaks loose

I'd say we have a bigger issue with the media in this country than we do with chip wrappers

Absolutely.

I get pissed off seeing people walk past a bin and dropping their shit on the ground.

I saw the aftermath of an environmental protest a while back. The amount of shit they left behind was ridiculous.

All teenagers should be made to do little duty at school once a week, and go to their local shops to clean up chicken shop litter and fizzy drinks cans and bottles.

Let's not pretend that Muslims don't drop litter though. Not as much as those bloody Christians on my buses though, but still.

Good idea. They might think twice about chucking their McD's bag on a street corner.

Ashamed to admit that was probably the last time I did it.

I regularly take part in trash sweeps ... lots of people moan about it, lots of people drop trash and very few do anything about it!

Redditch

How about eat in at the normal price and double the price to take away. Not that the company that made the food keeps the second payment, that would be ring fenced to the council cleaning services.

You'd soon see a difference one way or the other.

I like that idea! Money back if they bring their rubbish back. Like with bottle returns in the olden days.

I knew I picked the wrong thread title.

"Groups of Muslim men roaming town centres" would have gone down well.
