Northampton Somewhere

Apparently there was an event last night where between 700 and 1000 people attended, in a warehouse in Kettering. They are still going at it now!!

The police report said they had complaints about the noise but didn't have the resources to go in and close it down so they let them get on with it while monitoring from a distance.

I never got into that scene, didn't like the music!!!

But I'm wondering with the police saying that could this be the start of the rave revival?

You mean football holligans, if it was peaceful and no risk and they had the same restraints I am sure they would have taken the same view. Most Raves did not have any violence so minimum risk.

There were loads of raids in the area where I used to live, mainly because of illegal substances. No violence though.

If it is an illegal rave then the old bill should have gone in!!!!!

Just to clarify per person that attends football there is less disturbance than attends Notting Hill carnival. 330 arrests by btp in 5 months across the whole network in relation to football fans for social disturbances

39 were nicked in London in one night this week due to an attempted murder!!!!

Can I say, I have been to football and be treat like scum of the earth as soon as I have a football top on by police. I have heard of falsified statements against football fans for just standing somewhere on steps

I agree if it was peaceful no issue but I will tell you this now, I have not known a rave happen where the amount of illegal drugs being taken and supplied.

I think it was because their resources were stretched with it being new years eve so they didnt have enough officers available in one area to do it safely so any other night they would have gone in and closed it down

A dozen pissed up footy fans in the wrong mindset could probably cause more trouble than a 1000 people off their tits ever could.

I always thought that issue with illegal raves was primarily one of trespass which normally gets treated as a civil matter anyway

There are still surprisingly quite a few Raves. Mostly on bank holidays.

Once they get going they are hard to stop too many variables I should imagine. A couple of years ago they had one in the woods near me. Went on for two days. Did a lot of damage to the farmers field and woodland.

At least with a Football match they are pre-planned with resources allocated.

It’s how they’ve policed them for a while. I’ve been to a few across the country. As long as it stays in the venue (barns, warehouses etc) the police just monitor. Any sign of fighting, taking drugs outside or anything else outside (sex for example) they come in.

They then catch a lot for drug and drink driving, who deserve to be caught!

There used to be 'free parties'as they were called when I was younger. It would normally be at a top secret location in the middle of some woods or in a disused warehouse. I went to a couple, but had enough when idiots used to turn up with knives, on one occasion guns and bag loads of drugs. There was no security and it would often end up with idiots causing trouble. I think since the internet has been about they tend to be much more advertised and easier to find out about.

There's raves on all over the country every weekend,legal raves,were ya pay to get in,got heavy security ,any trouble an ya out,it's wicked to be fair.

I used to enjoy them. It just takes a few idiots to turn up for everything to turn sour. Shame x

It happened in Preston about 2 weeks ago too

apart from a few moaning oldies the wider reaction from people is quite accepting. Helps that they didn't damage the land or have any drug casualties.
