I know somebody who got it, his hair looks so thick and amazing now! But aside from that, I like baldies so I'm the wrong person to ask

My Insta feed is full of adverts for this. I reckon they been looking at my pics.

I wonder what it looks like further down the road whether it discolours etc

God is it painful?

And is it expensive.

I've just been quoted over 9k to have my tattoos removed

they basically tattoo your head with lots of dots with a special type of ink so it gives the appearance that you have a shaved a head but its very convincing.

apparently it is quite painful but not too expensive considering it takes 3 5 hour sessions

yea I know what you mean some people have it really sharp looking I think black men can get away with that as they have sharp hairlines any way when shaven but i will go for a more natural look. Im hoping I get the same results as my friend cause his is brilliant i was really surprised how good it looked

So basically it's a tattoo on your head that makes it look like you've got a #1 ?

I think each to their own, if you think it will improve your look then go for it!

I hope it all goes well for you

Friend had it done and his edges are just too sharp and not in keeping with an aging bloke.

I'm yet to see a hairline that doesn't look like a lego helmet

My female friend also had her hair line filled in to look fuller and again it wasnt natural.

It was also done in her natural brown but she's had bleached white hair since. It looks a bit silly

Totally each to their own though, I keep debating getting my brows done

I've researched this a bit as I'm saving up for this myself, having alopecia. I currently buzz my hair off but would like the bald bits " coloured in".

SMP is taking off in a big way and there are a lot of people offering the service with not good training and not good results. It's not just any old tattoo needle that's used, or you will end up with dots which are larger than a hair follicle and look unnatural. Choosing your hairline should not be rushed into. It will fade over time, about 3-5 years.

Cost depends on the amount of scalp that needs covering and any subsequent treatments after fade will be charged by the hour usually rather than one big cost for that first batch of treatments.

OP I'd be interested to know where your friend got his done, as I'm still looking into where to get mine done.

I hope you love your own results as much as your mates.

So it's not having rabbits tattooed on your head to look like hares (hairs) from a distance then?

...the old ones are still the best

a quandary, could you change my mind?

I used to work with a guy who had lots of tiny dots put on his head, it looked terrible! You could see it was dots and not hair, I never saw him without a baseball cap on, but it didn't cover the sides or back.

The ink will be inside the skin so surface still shiny? Won't that look...interesting?
