It’s hard being a parent, there comes a time when they grow up. It’s hard not to keep advising and steering them in the right direction. It’s thier life, but you still want to be their guardian and protector...

East Sussex

very true.

My dad still does this and I'm 62 he's in his mid nineties.

We try not to do it with our kids but we still do a bit

There and to the left a bit

I still turn to my Mum for advice at the ripe old age of 53 and will always be there to offer an ear to my kids whenever they want it no matter how old they are - sure there comes a time when you have to let them make their own mistakes and find their own way in life but absolutely nothing wrong with being there when they need a sage word or two

My dad still tries to give advice, he's 89 now..but I find I'm advising him more now...try to give my stepsons advise sometimes, they basically ignore me!

I'm an ear for them to sound off to.

I don't really give advice as they do ok without it.

I've done the grandma advice about baby rearing to death though.
