What makes someone 'genuine'?

People often say they are genuine. What does this mean to you? Are you looking for genuine people?

If a person has verifications saying they are genuine, would that entice you to meet them?

I’ve wondered this, Veris just mean they’ve met and not piss takers however genuine can only mean there profile is honest and true, if they say their married and playing away then. Probably more genuine than someone keeping secrets. Weirdly being honest on fab a find fits the description “genuine”

Fair points.

I don't think veris prove that people aren't piss takers. They may have met that person on that day but there's no guarantee they would turn up for another meet.

If they are playing away that infers they are keeping secrets - from their partner.

Genuine to us is somebody actually looking to meet and they are who they say they are, anyone can say they are genuine but are they? verifications give you a good idea of this, that’s why we don’t meet people not verified or just one veri but that’s hidden, too many time wasters I’m afraid.

I'd say it would generally mean honest. Then again, an ingenuine person might lie on their profile and say they are genuine, so it's not the most useful of things to put on your profile lol

I tend to read it as the fact they have an intention to actually meet up for real, if arranged

Of course it doesn't always mean that much, there are still the ultra discreet professional time wasters on the system too!

Someone who will generally honour what they say they will do or not do in their description. Being sincere, honest and truthful about what they will or not do. The genuine article, real, no fakes, not a time waster.

Pretty much you can spot the genuine ones a mile off, if they take the time to conduct themselves accordingly, with good manners, respect and discretion. All these things lead to the important point of trust, which to me is worth more than its weight in gold.

I have met a few very good friends from here and yes they are all genuine and were all as their profile described. They are genuinely very good people.

We are all individuals and I would imagine people have their own take on that to differing degrees.

I’m overly honest perhaps there’s an element of asd in there

I don’t dress to impress and don’t wear more than one face

They all sound like positive things. We can be one thing in certain situations and different when the situation is different.

I can be more feisty if I feel it's required and other times just say nothing with a sweet smile. I don't know if that makes me less genuine. But if it does then I'm ok with that.

Don’t worry I think my sense of humour gets lost on most people in text.

I suppose it can be down to the occasion how people behave sometimes, obviously you can’t go slapping someone’s ass in the supermarket isle and asking for a high 5 but that doesn’t mean you don’t want too lol and it doesn’t mean your not genuine because you didn’t do what you felt like doing (random example). Being how you feel is genuine, if that’s a happy day or a grumpy day, then that’s you just on a different day.

Also people probably don’t want to let their guard down on here, they don’t want to open up to people they have only chatted to, they will wait until they meet to show themselves fully.
