The Adventure Game rocked!

All the big stars of the day were in it - Noel Edmonds, Maggie Philbin, Cheggers, Moira Stewart, John Craven, Graeme Garden, Sarah Greene, Bonnie Langford, Fern Britton, Ruth Madoc, Ian McGaskill, Professor Heinz Wolff....

You can find all the episodes on Youtube too.

"Monkey Magic.

Oh yes! There has been at least two more recent ‘remakes’ of the classic series which from what I’ve seen, didn’t look too bad but nothing will ever capture the sheer demented charm of the original.

Nothing.

Everything is of its time and place.

There is a view that any show has an arc of between 3 - 5 seasons once you go beyond that its often just filler and an excuse to try and make more money.

Being a fan of sci-fi i can think of many shows that have just gone on to long (example : Stargate and spinoffs).

What i do find disappointing now is that unless something is an instant success its immediately cancelled after just one series thats just not enought time to establish a fan base.

Netflix is currently cancelling all its Marvel shows (Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist Having gone) this though is due to Disney who own the rights launching their own streaming service in the near future so they may come back.

Everyone remembers Knight Rider but forgets the bike and the chopper.

Ooh - and on the subject of cool car/bike/helicopter based cheesy TV shows....Hardcastle and McCormick and Miami Vice.

Somewhere In The Ether…

"Quantum Leap...Oh Boy"

They really should revisit that as the ending was so dreadfully unsatisfactory - a mere piece of onscreen text to inform us that Sam never got home?! We all as fans, expected far more competent closure after investing the seven or so years enthralled by it.

I’d love to see another series of Between The Lines; The explosive ending was awesome but not knowing the fate of Neil Pearson’s protagonist has left me wondering all these years later.

I can't even remember the ending. But it brings back nice memories of watching with my mum. Might actually spoil it if I watched it again.
