Manchester (he/him)

There are a few threads floating about today asking 'what if a certain site feature wasn't there?' or offering advice to certain sections of the populace. Much as we all like a good justified gripe, I'm just wondering what people would actually like to change. Whether it be site features, extra controls, pre-approval for members or even some slightly more draconian measures...

Hefty Hideaway

I’d like to see the ‘online now’ thing be optional. Not because I like to hide particularly but it’s a ballache when I want to perve but not necessarily chat.

I’d also like an ‘opt out of being added to hotlists’ thing.

Alas both are unlikely.

Stop the ability to instantly post threads

Threads should go through a Mod before others are able to post on it

It would put a stop to multiple threads being posted on the same subject (as opposed to them being closed down as they are now)

They could also look at similar threads being posted within a given timeline - and reduce the amount of duplication

e.g. only one 'the user above' thread at a time. only allow another when that one reaches 175

I've already opted out of that feature

I would have it so single males have to be site supporters to message or have a restricted amount of messages until they become site supporters.

Would also like to see a quick reply to messages option where you could choose from a number of pre-written replies to messages. E.g. "You're not my type, but thanks" etc.

An 'appear offline' option, and an automatic 'Thank you for your interest but no thank you' button.

Definitely this. Would make threads flow better if you could tag people (as per FB) rather than the +quote facility that many don't use, which makes the occasional thread confusing.

I'd also ditch the 'most fabbed' league tables (reasons on many other threads tonight!).

I'd like to see some kind of .minimum standard' for profile completion - nothing too excessive but it would reduce the endless profiles set up for a quick perve that then sit dormant.

How about a maximum message number in an inbox of say 100 (unless from friends)? It would stop the gripes of too many message to deal with/my message gets lost amongst the others....and make people manage their inboxes better.

Add Bussy's 'pre-approval' of threads (although that would need more mods) and that's all I can think of for now.

I'll add more once I've won Tuesday's lottery, purchased the site and decided who's getting the £100,000 p/a salaries to run it for me........

I'd like a caveat on the joining up page where by you agree you're joining a site for swingers. So people don't get all angry later on that they can't find Mr right on here, or can't understand why people have sexually explicit photos on their profiles.

Also one for singles guys to acknowledge that they understand no answer=No interest.

But they wouldn't sign up unless they were getting something they considered worth paying for or they couldn't get elsewhere for free/cheaper, so it would cut down on the number of men overall regardless of what they were on here for.

Sad times.

If it wasn't for single men we'd have missed out on a lot of fun and I'd have never have met Fox.

Some of us have all the time in the world for the right single men.

I don't agree that it has, I do however think that a problem for a lot of people (rightly or wrongly) is the behaviour of a portion of single guys.

I'm not bothered by the comments being aimed at those that behave badly, mainly because I don't behave that way so it doesn't affect me and, other than their gender and their potential targets, I have nothing in common with them.

This is a purely theoretical exercise in how people would like things to be better, not statement of intent

Appear offline, tagging posts and the usernames showing on quoted messages so it's easier to follow thread (but I think the forum would need to restricted to site users only then).

I'd just like it to look a little more like a website in this decade. It's a little late 90s/first try of java so it catches a bit more attention when you're caught browsing just because it looks so out of place.

Ultimately we would like to get rid of all the fake profiles but that is not something that the site could fix no matter what draconian measures it puts in place.

We have always wanted better geographical areas on Fab.

When you click on a profile and it says you’ve messed them or they’ve messaged you, if you could click on that and it take you too that message. I have a terrible memory and also find making personal notes on profiles a bit time consuming sometimes.

I would like to see Fab make it easier to find people who meet others preferences. Please refer to my thread 'What we want' or something like that!

Also when my friends or people on my hotlist are in the chat room I'd like to see what room they're in, so maybe the room no in the bubble that appears on their profile would make it easier to perv on them

Considering how many people use it but do not pay to support it it's probably not a financially viable option.

I can't rally think of anything that would really matter to me.

Obviously getting messages only from gorgeous men desperate to be at my beck and call would be nice

I don't use Fab on the mobile that often but toning down the yellow on the unread messages could make it less conspicuous

Wouldn't cost that much.

Even if there were only a couple of thousand paying £5 that soon adds up.

There's bound to be a web developer or two on here that would do it for free Platinum Membership....

When I’m hidden I’d like new people to NOT be able to message me. I’m hidden for a reason.

Yeah, so you could choose l’il ol’ Rutland or that plus Leics and Lincs for example. There was a bloke on earlier from Sandy in East Anglia (a region) that came up as being from the south east. South east includes Oxford!!
