Rural Wiltshire

For me they both have their merits. And I would find it hard to choose between them both.

There and to the left a bit

GoT has the far more gripping storylines but Vikings is a little more real - so both for me

The right place

I like both but GoT is in a different league.

Vikings acting and dialogue is pretty bad but the story is pretty good. GoT is just superb on all fronts.

Seen both.

Both held my attention really well but I think from the second half of season 4 onwards of Vikings was a bit thin on content.

GOT on balance, as the story lines are stronger.

Come on, you can't really compare when one has a production budget equivalent to the national debt with a narrative to match and the other is having to rely on extended family to keep the story going. Both very good, but in different ways.

Would a fairer comparison be GoT to LotR? Vikings to The Last Kingdom? Just a thought..

I'd still say GoT in a comparison with LOTR. I hate that they messed about with the storyline for LOTR. I know they have for GoT, but I've not read the books so it doesn't bother me.

And don't get me started on The Hobbit films!

I think a bit of storyline tinkering is inevitable when translating a story from book to film. They're different mediums and allow stories to develop in different ways. The bigger the story, the greater the tinkering required.

As for the hobbit films, aren't they short stories anyway?!

GoT wins easily but also love Vikings.

Last Kingdom on Netflix is also very good.
