Should this be banned Haha only I just had a call out and got to be in work at 7 been drinking so have to be picked up now damn

If you were on call, why were you drinking?

Surely the point of being on call, means being available to respond promptly & in a capable capacity?

It was a call to see if I was available to go in tomorrow as I have a lift I can do it i dont get paid for being on call or anything it might only be half hour job not a heavy drinker but a few beers is a few beers

If they banned working over the holidays the country would descend into anarchy! No police, fire brigade, ambulance, nurses - not to mention bar staff in pubs.

I'm on call from Sunday for 7 days, so a dry New Year.

I've also worked a lot of Christmas' and it's not the worst thing in the world

if on call, no matter what kind of job you do, it’s a bit irresponsible to have a few drinks don’t you think, as for banning working over the christmas period, maybe in an alternative universe but no, it just wouldn’t happen ever in this one.
