If you like a bit of a laugh, try the three Toms, Sharpe, Sheperd and Holt, not exactly a series from each but very funny books none the less.

Philip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' trilogy, although don't let the absolute rubbish film adaptation put you off (The Golden Compass, walked out as soon as the silly cow playing Lyra opened her gob!)

I agree with the Robert Jordan - Wheel of time series. Just picked up book 8. And the Stephen King one. Good twist in that

Armageddon the Musical is a great read though can't remember the author and there is a follow up. Very funny.

I love reading series' as you can prolong the buzz and hold off the horrible feeling when you get to the end and realise it over.

When you've read the above countless suggestions, try:

Michael Connoly's books- with the detective Harry Bosch (they're good) -there's at least 10 in that series

Or Kathy Reichs books

These"

These are all a brilliant read and if you intend to read them all, read them in order. Also as mentioned the dark tower by Stephen king a seven book series worth every minute it takes to read.

Kudos on the Jordon, King, Pratchett, Asimov and especially the GRR Martin

There not in a series but...

Try Iain Bank's "The Crow Road" and "The Wasp Factory" at least one of them usually appears on the 100 books you should read sort of lists!

If you dont like Sci Fi id avoid his work as Iain M Banks (although if you do the early books he wrote are amazing!)
