Got one heat and making all sorts of noise to get out the house and the blooming big tom cat sitting on flat roof making even more noise trying to get in house ,dont think I will get much sleep today . Not mine I hasten to add cos otherwise they both would have had the chop

i feel your pain, my cat was a total slut when on heat, bloody kids let her out..... we had 5 lovely kittens!

I appologise for this reply being gross but its something a vet (believe it or not) told me when my cat was in heat. If u dont want her spayed yet or shes too young, grab her by the scruff of the neck while shes on ur lap and insert a cue tip (cotton bud) into her vagina and thrust it in and out till she jumps off your knee (often with the cue tip still inserted and has a very loud cat orgasm this shud relieve her from any discomfort for a few hours. I SWEAR this is true check google for "cue tip method" and once again. . . Im sorry for this post

she isnt my cat belongs to the cpl i live with if she had been mine she would have been done at 6mths as all my own cats were when I had them .

Please don't ever do this cue tip thing, noone should insert any objects into animals orifices, apart from it being cruel and harmful and painful I should imagine, to an animal, then you could find yourself being fined rather a large amount by the RSPCA. Go to a bloody vet for gods sake.

I can't understand why anyone would not get their animals neutered. The RSPCA would help with costs etc rather than have unwanted animals. I personally wouldn't have male cats urine being sprayed anywhere near my home.

Sorry I didn't mean this to be aimed at you, cos if the animals don't belong to you then you can't really do much about it and I also feel your pain, must be a nightmare.

. Actually, the poster is right; it is an accepted method tho wouldn't suggest anyone tries due to risk severe damage. . Makes em ovulate so queen comes out of season. They're back in few days later, though. There's a jag avail at the vet or at this time year keeping in darkened room 16. Hour a day might be stopgap

Even getting Cats neutered will not cure the urges... although my advice would be always employ the services of a Vet....

ps, except with the hose pipe and little bit of cool water if you cannot manage that without being cruel then there is something wrong with you

I was stunned it was my VET that suggested the q tip method she even said if ur not comfortable doing it either use a finger to "rub her off" or bring her in and she would do it i was horrified lol

I am not an authority on cats at all, as I am not a qualified vet.

But it would not enter my head to stick an object up a cats vagina in order to give the cat 'a cat orgasm' and therefore prevent it crying when in season.

Come on how bloody obscure and quite frankly disturbing and inappropriate does that sound.

My advice in animal matters is go to a vet and get them to perform treatments and whatever it is they do, well they can get on with it can't they.

Ah, opinions. Don't ya love them. Ok, the cat ovulates on stimulation, then comes out of season THEN stops crying and rolling around as though demented. If anyone is struggling with getting their cat neutered or if there is a local stray tom causing a nuisance, contact your local CPL branch for a neutering voucher.
