Driving through the new forest and there were ponies everywhere!

Even groups of them strolling around Burley village .

I could have wet myself with joy

Gloucester

"Who is Joy? "

Joy was clearly as excited as Mary at the sight of ponies everywhere .

I’m not sure why the sight of ponies got these two ladies so excited that they both gushed , but there we are

I caught a New Forest Pony once, with a view to eating it, but the Royal Marines said I wasn't allowed. So it just carried some gear instead.

They're a pain in the arse when you have to be somewhere and you're running late...

Love the new forest though.

I had no idea they were so close to civilisation.

The New Forest was lovely, but very muddy.

The ponies aren't too bad, they do tend to move. The bloody cows just stand there staring at you...

Is that because you couldn't find a toilet?

There are donkeys and cows that roam just as freely as the ponies, and in October, there's "pannage" - the time when the commoners (local farmers usually) let the pigs roam free to eat the acorns.
