Don't believe the hype. If you wake up alone most days and are happy with it, Christmas shouldn't be any different. There will be people surrounded by family dying inside - I speak from experience.

Same as every other day over the last seven years. Will enjoy the company of friends and family and happily retreat to my peace and quiet afterwards.

Did this last year. It was great, no early wake up and a whole day to do what I wanted. Its not all doom and gloom. This year I have company but happy to do both.

As commented above lots of people will have company - it's not always a blessing xx

I hope you all have a great day - do what makes YOU happy!

I suppose it might be odd if you went to bed alone but found someone next to you the following morning when you woke. Although I guess it could be Father Christmas if he needed to crash out.

Will be visiting close family on Christmas eve and waking up on the day alone. Close family visiting for dinner so not too bad.

LONDON (se)

Every year my uncle and aunt have a Christmas Eve party. This year I will be going home alone as kids with their dad.

I'm going to drive to my nan, who now lives in a nursing home, to spend Christmas day with her.

She doesn't know yet as it will be a surprise

This will be my first xmas eve/waking up xmas morning on my own in 15 years.

I am ok with it as its just another day to me, anyway by lunch time will have my son's with me for dinner and the rest of the day. I get to have a lay in bed xmas morning.

Wherever you want

I will be and looking forward to it. After the terrible Christmas I had last year with my soon to be ex wife (hopefully) her sister and kids it’s going to be great.

I will get up, breakfast, walk the dogs and have a nice lunch. Got some new dvds to watch later.

Hope you all have a great time whatever you choose.

I wake up every morning in my own so it makes no difference to me.

I've got the morning to myself then work for 3 hours.

Then to my nieces house for a family Xmas dinner and lots of drinks and home to the peace and quiet

It's just another day I don't make it a big deal.

I am exited about eating ALL the yummy food though

Church? Christmas isn't about church lol... it's about being a slave to the corporate system and wasting all your hard earned money on shit and food before living on credit until the end of February. Guess that magic man in the sky would be pissed at me if he was real

Hiding in the shadows

My ex has the youngest 2, alternate Christmases.

First year without them, I cried my eyes out. Sat home alone all day.

I turned down invites to friends as really didn't want to play happy families with someone else's kids.

I've worked Christmas day the last 5yrs I've not had the kids at home.

I experienced this for the first time a number of years ago x

I found it so hard

I had walked away from my marriage x

I’d fallen out of love with my wife but not my son x

My parents couldn’t understand my behaviour x

I checked into a travel inn

It was horrendous

It took a few Christmas to get back on an even keel

Even now a decade later my ex punished me by not letting me see my son on Christmas Day x

I’m lucky tho x in the interim I’ve me a new crowd of friends and my family accept that I was unhappy x

Now my too best days of the year are the Christmas Day me and my lad have on Christmas Eve and our pre new year dad and lad event ( soon he will be old enough to buy me a pint)

So if you are alone on Xmas day x then please remember it’s just a day x

Circumstances change x

And at the very least there will be always someone on the end of a phone line or on the forums in Fab x

I wish all fabsters a peaceful festive period x
