To me it's another form of mutilation if not done for medical reasons. Every myth about the 'benefits' of it have been debunked time and time again. It's still primarily done for religious/cultural reasons. And those being cut have no say.
There will always be cases where it's needed for health/medical reasons but as a percentage of all cases these are miniscule.
The fact that in 2018 people are still peddling the cleanliness aspect makes me laugh/cry in equal doses. If you can't wash you knob properly then you seriously need to give your head a wobble and maybe invest in some education.

But I remember the doctor saying that it's tight foreskin that makes it difficult to properly clean, hence residual smell. So that's the medical angle to that whole argument. Of course there's those who don't clean. That's just unfortunate.
An odd anecdote about something I don't miss is the vagaries of peeing with tight foreskin, having to aim became a bit of an art.
