Yep.

They made a really shit TV series about it. Worse than watching an actual five day test.

It was for the 1933 ashes series in Australia. Captain Douglas Jardine came up with the strategy and Harold Larwood was the bowler. No Google I promise

I'm assuming the dates are correct but yes, that's what I think of when I hear the term. Famous because it was considered to be unsporting tactics at the time.

It’s the tactics the English cricket team used against the Aussie cricket team, not sure what year. It was their answer to control the prolific Don Bradman mainly, it involved putting a load of fielders down the leg side in a sort of slip and gulley position, then they would pepper them with bouncers, so they they’d fend them off and get caught.

It made for shit cricket and was banned soon after I think.

Near Wells

I can't believe I'm reading a thread about cricket on fab.

I have to be honest, I quite enjoy sipping a Pyms while watching a bit of cricket.

Somewhere In The Ether…

Without googling and if you don’t imply the term as pertaining to cricket, then it’s (maybe) a reference to the ‘Follow me’ line (the line from a man’s pubic region to his stomach) or else possibly something to do with Meridians in the context of reflexology/acupressure/acupuncture.

Or more likely none of the above....?

Edmonton

I remember about many years ago a programme called body line which was set around the Ashes cricket in the 30’s England bowlers use it successfully to win the Ashes part of the program centred about a Australia dispute about Don Bradman a will he won’t he play.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

"Nah you're all wrong"

They're all correct, as it is "A" meaning of bodyline.

Your first didn't ask "what meaning of bodyline am I specifically thinking of?"
