Sprouts! Literally only ever eaten at Christmas in our house. I still haven’t ever understand why this should be the case. If anyone knows the hell why the PM button is down there ...

I don't know why but I love sprouts and have them as a stable of my veggies throughout the year.

Parsnips on the other hand only ever come out at Christmas.

Sprouts ?

I'd rather eat my own toenails than a sprout. Used to live in Bedfordshire as a child and all the farmers around us grew them. The stink when they were being picked is enough to make anyone reach for a bowl to be sick in...................no, no,no, the devils veg if ever there was one.

Garlic paste and parsley on bacon, wrap the bacon around the sprout, put in the oven with some chicken stock.

I have brussel sprouts as soon as they come into the shops in autumn.

I love the little sexy green balls of vitamins (smiling sprout emoji)

Cook them and paste them in marmite would be the ultimate nightmare.

Really wish that thought hadn’t come into my head.....

Who has time for this?

Sauté thinly sliced sprouts in butter with Savoy cabbage, or sauté with butter and fresh grated ginger.

Best tasting after the first frost so not really a 12 month vegetable imo but I love them in the winter and have devised some great recipes that would make most of the anti sprout person give them a thumbs up.

Most people who don't like them have been served mushy over cooked ones with no taste

You should try roasting them instead of boiling.

I remember when we picked and shelled our peas & broad beans, runner beans were also picked, stringed and sliced, some of them were parboiled and salted in big jars as well, we didn't have a freezer back then

An ex mother in law of mine used to boil the Bejesus out of veg til it was little more than a pulp, then chuck the nutritious water down the sink and boil the kettle to make gravy

If you cut the base out they pretty much fall apart..

Apparently due to the hot summer, sprouts will be smaller than usual this Christmas. Waitrose are calling them sproutlets.
