Pots and pans for Xmas

I've been led to believe that buying your partner pots and pans, cook books etc for Xmas is a cardinal sin. I don't know if it's really true but my question is this:

If it is true how do you feel about receiving DIY/work tools and equipment? Personally i don't mind at all if it's something i need.

(I've deliberately kept this gender neutral).

Hillside desolate

I want a shark handheld vacuum and a microwave for Christmas. My other half said no chance as it'll make him look like a dick when I tell people what I got

It's fine if you ask for things like that. I would tell people I got perfume tho

I hate practical presents, especially if they should not be used by me alone! I like to give things that are personal to whom I am giving them. Personal gifts let ya know how much someone knows about you... And possibly how much they care.

I quite like practical gifts. An electric screwdriver and plate set were amongst my favourites.

I'm just grateful for any and everything I get given... (as long as it's not some nasty disease of course)

I would have been happy with a set of decent saucepans and frying pans from my ex husband.

It's better than the nothing he surprised me with every year.

No, I like personal gifts. My ex gave me a Le Creuset frying pan in my stocking once lol, lucky for him there was some Liberty's jewellery in there too or he would have had it wrapped round his head!!

You can always lie to save his blushes and tell people he got you a hi-viz jacket and safety boots.

If the pots and pans are from Steeles' Oxy Brillo range, I'm in!
