My teenage son uses an electric shaver. He finds it ideal as he doesn't need to shave every day and he won't end up bleeding everywhere when he shaves over his spots.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

I've used a spinny one all my life with no problems.

To be honest, to start with it probably doesn't matter that much - for most kids they could miss a bit and nobody would notice for a week...
