country hotel/spa ideas

We have a free weekend to ourselves between xmas/new year so wanting to have a little treat for ourselves and looking for ideas for a nice hotel/spa doesnt have to be countryside but just looking for a nice romantic relaxed place to stay.

We are near Chester so looking at travelling upto an hour away.

There's a nice Spar in Shrewsbury.
