Fire fighters might get one job a week and their role is quite limited to fires and car crashes. The police go to 10-20 jobs per shift and they’re the only emergency service that never says no. Far from useless I think you’ll find.

Always makes me chuckle when someone from one service goes down the yeah but we this and them that route, all blue light bods in my experience at times do a thankless essential job and it's usually the politicians who want to play the divisions game..

Could it be because the fire brigade have fuck all to do, spend significant portions of their shift preparing group meals, watching TV, using the gym, or sleeping through their night shifts, while the Police are understaffed, overstretched, and regularly expected by the public to fulfil the duties of other public services?
