I've been self employed since my late teens. Normally January's tax payment is sent long before now, so why is it such a shock ? You must have been expecting it, i always am.

I put 25% of my earnings in a separate account every month. What is left after the tax bill I spend on holiday.

Same here but our payroll department still royally fuck it up. Then I get the dreaded letter stating that "I" haven't paid enough tax!

It did once quite a few years ago when I was married and he was self employed. We always did the paper version,.friends kept saying you ought ti do it on line......one year the web went down..Tax man told them they had months to do it, HMRC's problem and fined them for late submissions.
