I always think those big fat wood pigeons when they wobble round the garden making their noise to each other are doing it in a brum accent

Much maligned and misunderstood accent, Brum is very different to the Black Country accent it gets mistaken for

I personally think it's a nice friendly accent, not sexy, but many regional accents I wouldn't say are sexy

There's no British accent I don't like to be honest.

The Carlisle one is a bit funny but I love earwigging when people are talking.

I get accent Tourettes sometimes though and start trying to mimic them while they're stood in front of me (not in a mean way)...it will get me into trouble one day!

Thankfully having grown up in East Birmingham the accent is less pronounced than the areas closer to the black country so I manage to sound quite civilised.

It's gotta be up there with the Scouse and Cockney on awful terms and we're Brummies.

P.s. don't mistake it for the Black country accent though.

We can still be offended.

Brummie and the Black Country Yamyam accent are two totally different beasts.

In the same way Scouse and Manc are different. Geordie and Meckum. Glasgow and Edinburgh. And any other pairs of regional accents that sound the same to outsiders
