A few things which I find very annoying

1) which lane should you be in to go straight on

2) which lane to go right

3) when should you indicate or not in most cases..

Unless there are signs saying otherwise, it is the left lane for left and straight on, right lane for going right. There are some hidden meanings on a roundabout sign too but not many know them

If the lane you want is at 1 oclock or more you need the right lane. 12 oclock middle lane or left. Before 12 oclock left lane. Hope that helps

Yep! I had someone approach in the right hand lane of a dual carriageway (I was in left to go straight on) and they turned into me as they wanted to go left. Claimed I was in the wrong, their solicitors even threatened me with court which I said yes, let’s go... needless to say they never turned up

What if it's only got 1 lane off to left and 1 straight on. I've seen a lot of drivers get that one round their neck on a roundabout near us and cut you off by going in left hand lane when they should be on the right approaching the roundabout.

You sort of know when they are going to do it but it's very irritating when they do.

Especially in major cities

Once pulled up at a junction on or around A102 Leytonstone area guy at traffic lights in right lane turned left in front of me, I was in middle lane, how I missed him I’ll never know

Was the left turn going in to a two lane road? If so they can but obviously need to make sure it is safe to do so

Are there clear markings on the road? Shouldn't happen if there are

Worrying that people are out driving without knowing the basics like this.

Yesterday had me witness mr magoo start in the left lane and stay in the left lane all the way around the roundabout past 3 exits to leave by the road he'd entered the roundabout by.

Can be done if the roundabout allows and they were indicating correctly, all down to the roundabout sign

True in most cases and a good rule to follow, but always pay attention to the roundabout signs and road markings too, there’s one near me that’s left lane to make a turn that’s after 1 o clock.

You should be indicating which way you want to go approaching the the roundabout unless going straight on then you should indicate left after the last turn off before yours

I treat roundabouts like junctions

On approach if you want to go right stay in the right hand lane and indicate to say so, switching to left indicate when you want to turn off

If you want to go first left then go in the left hand lane and indicate on appoach, if second left dont indicate til you pass first turn off..

Simple

Coming from Milton Keynes it astounds me how people don't understand roundabouts! Especially people who live in Milton fucking Keynes!

People who don't indicate wind me up. I can often drive home behind someone for 5-10 miles, going over numerous roundabouts & not see them indicate once. Its usually an Audi, BMW or Prius..

Another decline in moral standards?

but it does happen .not many bother to look at markings or directional arrows . there's another awful problem ... How many treat a mini roundabout or a roundabout painted on the ground actually as a roundabout . I wonder what they get taught these days as some dont seem to have any clue whatsoever

I hate that sometimes it’s the left lane to go left or straight on, but sometimes it’s the left lane only to turn left, and you can’t see the arrows on the road til the last minute...

Google Maps is pretty good these days for showing that info though.

Apparently all new BMWs from 2020 will have them fitted as standard!

Indicate what your intention is going to be when you enter. A left or tight turn.

And ALWAYS indicate your fucking intention to leave the roundabout.

If you don’t, when I’m minister for transport I’m introducing tilt and turn roundabouts. If you don’t indicate your intention you can’t get off. It just tilts you and you keep going round until you eventually learn to FUCKING INDICATE

Are they anywhere near as bad as those pesky tilt and turn windows -I have visions of the mechanism becoming decoupled at the wrong moment and then forcing those who indicate correctly to suddenly start questioning their sanity

Just remember to always go clockwise round the roundabout unless your over 70 . If 18 or under you can go straight over the top

And if you're open to being way over the limit -which way you'll go is anyone's guess
