"Ok, so we've established the majority of women in this thread don't like those phrases, which begs the question, what is acceptable?" Think people don't mind it so much out in life as it is a location/generational term of endearment but in messages it unacceptable... Try using their name above the personal details?

My username is Lou Bricate ... so do get called Lou and that is better than babe/hun etc but if someone has read my profile then my name is Amy ... that's much better and even more respectable. Personally I don't use Babe or Hun with people I don't know, including on here, as its too familiar, but I do wonder why people get so wound up by things that aren't intended to be insulting.

Exactly ... I think in life it's fine, though not my thing just when messaging a stranger a little disrespectful and whilst it doesn't bother me at all, I probably wouldn't meet them

Even the parish priest will call people hun I tend to find terms like Dabe and Princess very false and smarmy from people I don't know. It's overfamiliar and I don't like it.

It’s a cpls profile so what makes them think they’re talking to wifey? We recently had a message off a guy who started his message “ hey babe, I’d show your man how to use your mouth” so I deleted. No face pic as it says on our profile, on over a year and no varifications, then puts a status, a reply would be respectful. LMAO. Any single guys that wants attack my reply In here, feel free. My skins to thick to care. Respect goes a long way. BIG up to you OP
