Body size. Confusing as hell?

Please can someone explain to me the different in size from athletic and average?!?!

To me an athletic shape is fairly lean and toned. An average shape is not large or toned.

Large and above fit the rest.

Why do so many people fib about their size??

I say I'm an average size being a size 12 bottom and 14 top.

I seriously wouldn't worry about it, it's all so subjective to the individual.

It's a can of worms opened many a time, never fully answered to satisfaction.

I'm saying I'm curvy as I have curves and a size 14.

I don't exactly know what the average size in the UK is, I've heard it's a size 16.

I am far from athletic so would never put that.

At the end of the day short with fat bits and big tits wasn't an option.

Its also up to the person whose profile it is to decide what they want to lable themselves as!

I have athletic.

Some people agree with me, some don't.

The lines are very blurred as it's down to personal opinion. There's no hard and fast definition.

People don’t necessarily lie. They often delude themselves though.

I’ve seen women wearing jeans sized 10 or 12 when they’re clearly way bigger than that. Ask them though and they’ll claim that’s their size.

It's not necessarily a lie. I think I'm average, others think I'm curvy. I will put what I think I am but have pictures for people to look at and make their own decision.

I say I’m athletic. I’ve never had any one tell me other wise and I don’t think I’ve ever looked at some ones photos and decided they weren’t how they describe themselves.

It’s kind of a weird thing to get hung up on to be honest

As someone else ndoes it matter if you pick a person because of their size that's ur choice just as for others they like what's beneath the body sort to say. I would say athletic is toned with muscle definition (but not body builder muscly) as that’s what athletes look like and average would be within healthy weight range for height without the definition but that’s just my thinking others will think differently. I’m underweight for my height but wouldn’t put slim as my body type because I don’t look slim as I think of slim as skinny lol but that’s just my view

It’s because *most* adults in the U.K. are overweight. Therefore the terms have become skewed upwards in size, if you see what I mean.

“Curvy/large/BBW” can be interchangeable terms.

You’re probably below average in terms of size generally (and almost certainly on fab, as it has an older population who often tend to be heavier).

There’s no offence intended in any of the above, before the usual suspects start up .

It does make me chuckle when I read athletic and the pics don't match up.

Had a couple message us recently with no public pics. Their profile stated they were both athletic.. as did their message. When we asked for pictures, they weren't what we would consider athletic.

I think people will interpret the labels in many ways. Maybe we need a 'lean/muscular'label.

However, we will always judge on pics anyway.

We both use the Athletic label but when we are bulking, we probably don't look so athletic.

How many would just search under that filter of body definition alone anyway when looking to meet someone? Much better to see pics of people and if you like you like no matter what the descriptive word of themselves.

Late into the discussion. Someone earlier said lots of the people on here are 'older'. Their words not mine. Well I'm definitely older but regularly in the gym five mornings pw, (the weekend is for me), and I do often say athletic. I'm certainly 'trimmer' than many. And not afraid of up-to-date photos.

Eve. x"

Athletic is accurate.

Although, if I met someone with your physique who described themselves as “slim”, I certainly wouldn’t feel mislead.

Your pics are incentive to use that gym membership of mine a bit more .

"Please can someone explain to me the different in size from athletic and average?!?!

To me an athletic shape is fairly lean and toned. An average shape is not large or toned.

Large and above fit the rest.

Why do so many people fib about their size??

I say I'm an average size being a size 12 bottom and 14 top."

I'm just small in height and fat and wobbly around the middle, never lye about it they would see it anyway . Iv have 7 babies and 5 c-sections and no amount of exercise is helping xx

To be honest I’m in the ‘I don’t really notice the descriptor’ camp. That’s what photos are for. If I have got to the point of meeting I’ve seen real time non filtered photos and decided I want a bit of that.

I’m ‘ample’ because there is no ‘fat’ option.

I have athletic limbs due to the weights I lift

I have tummy due to the copious amounts of pb I eat.

So as a mix between athletic and curvy I've gone for an average of, well, average.

I've also been berated in the part by another woman for not putting slim (well I was a stone lighter at the time).

Guess it's all in the perspective.

Showing body pic/s help people judge your level of attraction to their body and not judge their description of it.

As UK body sizes have made massive changes in recent years, there's greater confusion. If you find your meets aren't expecting you to be as you are based on pics, discuss greater detail prior to meets.

I'd like athletic to be generally lean, toned and fit but many disagree

I can tell you that if you lost some height, some muscle mass, donned an expensive weave and some heels you’d look like at least two of my ex’s if I was d*unk and squinted at you in the bathroom mirror...

What a prude.... you’re on a sex site and don’t want to see naked pics....

It’s like going to a ice cream shop and only eating a cone with no ice cream....

I want to see that in the flesh thanks. Most of the guys I’ve met on here didn’t have naked pics on their profile. Didn’t need to see it to know we would have fun. I don’t want to see someone’s arsehole unless it’s in front of my face in person. "

I've have seen one woman with terrible Photoshop on her legs to make them lol thinner and boobs bigger. Also crazy amount of editing on her skin.

I've never understood the way curvy gets abused . Curvy? Fat isn't curvy

Everyone views themselves differently, although there are certainly some blatant liars on here, or maybe they just need a new prescription in their glasses?

Pictures are the best way to view someone’s body, as average to one person could be large to another, curvy to one person could mean BBW to another.

Even dress sizes don’t always make sense, since every single shop will be different.

Large and above fit the rest.

Why do so many people fib about their size??

I say I'm an average size being a size 12 bottom and 14 top."

it depends how you view it yourself, if you're sporty then you see your body as athletic maybe

I'm an 8-10 but I have wobbly bits, hips and a butt (and maybe a bingo wing or 2) I think I'm curvy. I'm not athletic as I'm not very toned, yet I'm strong. B considers me slim.

Subjective indeed.

I used to say curvy... now say ample but wouldn’t say I’m bbw territory either but then again some would. It’s all about perception. I’m a size 18-20 small waist and big boobs at a 38G ...

But in ref to the original post to me athletic is slim but toned ..

Maybe more categories required, there isn’t much to choose from, I mean average isn’t really a description is it, so if your female and not busty with a booty then all you have is athletic, slim or average. Will describes me as wirey but that’s not on there lol.

Certainly subjective. For a start though your arms aren't the clearly veined bodybuilders type, your biceps are toned and dwfined when you flex them and you don't have bingo wings at all IMHO

You certainly have hips and a butt, but gorgeously in proportion with the rest of you, which as you'd qualify as one of the taller Borrowers are hardly of a size above "cute" Your bottom doesn't "wobble" when you walk, but does do that lovely little side-to-side tweak that the female gender is blessed with...

And as my eyes can look directly at your bottom from behind you (and often do) whereas yours can't I think it's fair to say I'm the foremost expert on the subject between the two of us, wouldn't you say...?

"I'm saying I'm curvy as I have curves and a size 14.

I don't exactly know what the average size in the UK is, I've heard it's a size 16.

I am far from athletic so would never put that.

At the end of the day short with fat bits and big tits wasn't an option.

Its also up to the person whose profile it is to decide what they want to lable themselves as!

"

There's also average in real life and average on Fab? For example a google search reveals that the "average" woman in Britain is a size 16?

Whereas on Fab it's probably more like an 18 or slightly larger?

Apparently I'm slim. Mr RP filled in the profile bits, so if he thinks I'm slim, I'm going to go with that

In summer Mr RP is athletic, in winter a touch rounder.

Body shaming anyone, fat or thin is not acceptable. I’m physically attracted to men who are slim, hubby could even be described as skinny. This preference is not the same as body shaming

It’s subjective really. It’s how the person views themselves, I would describe myself as average, some may disagree and say large but I’d day I have an average dad bod, I’m definitely not toned as much as I’d like to be, it also comes down to preferences I mean to me it doesn’t matter what size the woman is that’s not to say I don’t have preferences but I’d rather have sexual chemistry over body type

It’s quite amusing that it’s the ones that have clearly the wrong body type down saying it doesn’t matter and it’s subjective lol.. how on Earth is it subjective "

Because it obviously is!

It's only in recent years that bras are being made which for people better. For years women were wearing bras based on accept measuements for chest, cup sized etc but they didn't fit. Yet the bras all had sizes.these sizes are printed on a late, which therefore is very unarguable, Very objective..right..?

What if the sizes were wrong..!??

Amd that's just for that one part of the body. People are different.parts of the body are different. But use arbitrary societal labels if you wish. After all, if enough people believe it to be the truth, then it obviously is..

I haven’t read all this but actual sizes are irrelevant to body shape. I’m a 14 to 16 but I’m 5ft 9. That’s going to be a totally different body shape to someone who’s size 16 at 4ft 9. If I was a size 10 I would be skin and bone whereas someone 4ft9 could be curvy at size 10. It’s all crap. Look at the pics instead.

Have to disagree with regards to clothing sizes...if you were relating weight to height than I agree but a size 10 at our height doesn’t necessarily equate to skin and bone....muscle definition and tone yes

At a size 10 I was told I was too skinny. I was a lifeguard so had muscle tone but I looked ill. I’m

Large boned and big boobed so so the rest of me can look skin and bone at that size.

If anyone finds their weight/size confusing, this is the tool you need:

https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-weight/bmi-calculator/

The results are confidential.

I know it’s not perfect, as it doesn’t take minor differences in build into account, muscle weighs more than fat etc., but pretty good as a rough guide if you’re of a vaguely normal build, and not an extreme athlete, body builder etc.

You don’t need to be a dr or a biologist in order to use this, but they are largely in agreement that it’s an effective method .

"If anyone finds their weight/size confusing, this is the tool you need:

I know it’s not perfect, as it doesn’t take minor differences in build into account, muscle weighs more than fat etc., but pretty good as a rough guide if you’re of a vaguely normal build, and not an extreme athlete, body builder etc.

You don’t need to be a dr or a biologist in order to use this, but they are largely in agreement that it’s an effective method .

I was categorized as overweight..."

And you always look amazing.

Seriously though, who fucking cares that much. I mean, it’s all about attraction and if a picture is not enough, request more pics. "

Quite a few men on the forums complain about being misled by photos.

From your description, you’re 5”9, and have a lot of muscle mass?

I’m 6”3, most likely go to the gym less then you, but I watch what I eat I’m and categorised as a healthy weight.

I did say it wasn’t a perfect guide...

Ask your doctor if in doubt...

Its other people who are confused by it. They can't look at a pic or description and see past the image they have built up in their mind, of the person they want to fuck. Then, when they meet them in person, they are disappointed, but they only have their own stupid self to blame.

When a woman says they are fat...believe them.
