in the news recently who've been killed by others recently?

Is there an upward trend, a cause?

Dont know the answer, but think the media involvement might make it appear that there are more cases.

You think they invent murders and manslaughters? Serious violence such as shootings.

If anything, many local ones go unreported nationally.

no didnt mean that they would invent murders.. just that the press could have chosen to document and show more press coverage of the tragedies then say perhaps 10 years ago where they might not have decided to show it

Angus & Findhorn

sadly some people see killing people akin to a shooting/stabbing in a movie/ tv programme.

even on here we read people speaking about life like it is something disposable and often a subject of a joke.

and when keyboard warriors are really caffeined out of their nut... they say they would kill.

There have been a lot of, for want of a better term, unusual murders in the last few weeks, all are deemed news worthy for whatever reason. While other murders are little more than a footnote in the local press. For instance the abduction/stabbing in hackney and the mass murder up north are all over the papers. The guy shot dead in Clerkenwell on New Years morning - hardly anyone reads about.

The failing economy, recession, unemployment, bankruptcy, the shame of debt....

I would hazard a guess that this may well add to the causes of more domestic incidents that sometimes result in murders and suicides.

Sad times

I've been thinking the same thing and only today I said to Siren that this year is THREE days old and we've had a young woman kidnapped and murdered by her ex, a nutter shooting dead three female members of his own family, and another woman found dead on Sandringham Estate. THREE days. Doesn't bode well for 2012 does it.
