What meat do you have at Christmas?

We always have Christmas at my Granny’s house, and she used to do Turkey, Beef and Chicken. But I requested Gammon for years, so now instead of chicken she does Gammon.

What do you have?

And if you don’t have meat, do you replace the meat with another dish? Or just go without?

Venison, beef and a large gammon ... I sometimes add in chicken breasts (not a whole chicken) .. I rarely have turkey nowadays

Last few years, we've had salt beef, but price has become extortionate this year so won't be having it. Think the consensus this year is pork, but still open to discussion I think.

Mash, fried spuds*, carrots, brocolli, peas, gravy

* My dad makes pigs in blankets. He parboils some potatoes and then fries them in a shallow frying pan in the fat off the pigs in blankets. They're divine - and as it's Christmas - totally calorie free

Always Turkey Lurkey on crimble day and on boxing day, I cook a ham and we have a cold meat salad and party food spread with a houseful of greedy feckers. And a humungous Trifle nom nom.

Turkey and pigs in blankets always.

It depends who else is coming for Christmas dinner as to which other meats we have. One year we had turkey, goose and beef. Another year we had turkey, duck and lamb. Another, Turkey, pork, lamb and beef.

This year it will probably just be 4 of us Christmas day so we'll have turkey, lamb and pigs in blankets.

Last year we had chicken because the shops ran out of small turkey crowns before I could get one. It was just as good of not better.

This year my brother is catering and we're having gammon. Nom. Will be nice to have a year off cooking!

Always turkey for Christmas dinner and boiled gammon for tea.

Boxing day is cold meat with home made chips and pickles.

I always think that whomever is doing all the cooking should decide what is on the menu. If everyone else wants something else then they should volunteer to cook instead so they get their choice of food

I do Gammon for Xmas eve and turkey crown for Xmas day. Usually go out on Boxing Day.

I remember having a bird in a bird in a bird one year and it was awful.
