Being gluten intolerant doesn't help your plight as most vegan ready meals are pasta based.

I ate a lot when I had meat when I went vegan the portions I needed to eat for both the gym, work conditions and general life had t increase. I was constantly 'grazing' if you're cutting down then its fine but bulking up is another matter. Was vegan for a year before coming back from the dark side.

Being vegan is too much prep and thought for me - I haven't got time.

Not the same thing - but I tried clean eating a few years back.

I lost weight and felt good.

But I got bored of thinking about food all the time.

Preparing it - not being able to eat out, no alcohol.

It didn't work out

If your body is having difficulty breaking down certain types of sugars (yes they are different types) then everyone is sluggish. On days I eat loads of carbs usually morning. I have a hard work out and a physically demanding day I get no sluggishness. However, on days, I eat carbs mid to late into the day and I haven't got anything planned to put that energy towards I get sluggish.

Due to vegan and health trends, there is now a greater deal of avocado farms. Avocado farming uses up 3 times the amount of fresh water compared to any other popular massed farmed fruit. Just because people go vegan doesn't mean it's not affecting the planet. As long as you consume from the earth you are affecting it.

Thought you were talking bollocks there for a second but had a look and you're right. But this seems to be more of a problem in Mexico as the demand in the US has grown. Deforestation to increase the size of the farms hopefully isnt an on going thing. Cant see a lot vegans being happy to give up avocados like palm oil.

Not a chance that palm oil one is still difficult. The best and long lasting cosmetics like lipsticks use palm oil due to how it reacts to oxygen and heat, yet you don't see all vegans not using lipsticks.

This is the most asinine thing to say to vegan. So fed up with this argument. No one sepnds anytime trying make anything look or tatse like meat. But it is easier for the growing trend of vegans to see food that way becuase they still have that mind set. I always maintain that I still have the same meals but with out meat and diary. Its really not that diffucult and can see by some of the responses that people are a jaded by the idea. Thats fine. Im kne of two vegans ar work so these conversations come up a lot.

And for the record, the human digestive system never evolved to handle meat and diary. Not supposed to drink any milk after your a baby. Think about that next time your sitting on a toilet bloated with cramps and feeling lethargic. Humans only developed the taste for meat during the Paleolithic era as a way of getting through winter when there was no food coz, Paleo man was too lazy or dumb to migrate.

They haven't lost. There are animal products in EVERYTHING..... petrol, plastics , glues, yada yada....

People are doing well by doing what they can do. i.e. avoiding eating animals or using animal products as best they can.

Maybe awareness campaigns will include many artificical products in years to come.

Who knows? Anyway .... the scouser up above ( not God ) is going to save us with air n sea water and probably a nice bag of mud to suck on

in the park yesterday, as some of you already know, some negative vibe merchant had written in chalk in big massive words on one of the paths “Santa is a Vegan”, that pretty much sums up their mentality, bloody hippies.

I thought that Quorn was a meat substitute and people make spaghetti Bolognese sauce with it. I can't figure why non meat eaters want to eat food that looks like meat. Vegetarian sausages are the same.
