Anyone up watching?

How times have changed. Used to watch the big fights after a night out with mates, all back and carry on the party with beers and boxing.

Now I'm about to put the kettle on for a brew.

Not watching.

If I wanted to watch blokes lamping the shit out of each other I could just head to Bromley.

Boxing is a human blood sport and not my bag at all, I’m afraid.

How do three judges watch the same fight but get the scoring so differently?!

It’s hard to say fury won that fight. He was winning the boxing match until the last two minutes. They had that game plan down perfectly as well.

Deontay just hits too hard

I'm not keen on Fury and I wanted Wilder to win. Crazy scoring by on of the judges. However, you can't be knocked down twice and then expect to win on points. On that second knock down I thought it was good night for Fury lol. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if even before this fight it was set for a rematch. A rematch = more money.

A knockdown is still only a 10-8 round, a boxer could win the first 10 rounds and get knocked down in rounds 11 and 12 but he’d still win the fight on points

Only crazy thing is how wide the Mexican and Canadian judge had it. Was never a 4 or 5 round win for either. I scored it a draw same as the UK judge and in reality it makes no difference as the rematch was coming reguardless of the result.

North Bucks

The way he got up from what seemed like a KO was something like the Undertaker used to do in WWE.

Some great GIF’s doing the rounds of Wilder dancing around then his face changing when you see Fury get up.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Given that the score was mis-announced, doesn't the actual score (4 rounds one way, 2 rounds the other, one draw) mean the overall result is not a draw?

Has it always been effectively best of three, not 300-298?

It was 5 rounds 1 way and 4 round the other, but no it's not added up like that. It's taken as 1 card said wilder win, 1 said fury and 1 said draw, leaving it equal, Instead of adding round totals from each card.

Newcastle and Gateshead

a view from the other side of the pond... we think that fury was robbed

I am no fan of tyson fury but boy did he earn my respect last night! that final round knock down and that way he got up... and props to the ref for not stopping it what when he was lying there motionless in the 12th, dead at 2, up at 5, walking round like nothing had happened at 9!....

i can't see how the mexican judge scored it.... outside of round 5 and the 2 knock downs, I don't think i scored another round for wilder, so i had it 115-111 fury!!!

As an ex boxer myself I expected Wikder to win by early KO however I suspected the longer the fight went the better chance Fury had

Wilder is a one dimensional fighter and Tyson exposed that racking up round after round

The 2 KO’s were the difference between a decision win for Fury and a draw.

The lad was robbed in my opinion

But looking at it from a technical perspective... He could have run around the ring in the last and not engaged. That way he doesn't get knocked down (how the fuck he got up from that I don't know) and he wins the fight

I'm still not sure how someone gave it to Wilder 115-111

Bromley

this is the only sport I can think of - where nobody apart from the judges knows the score as you go along. So the boxer doesn’t know for sure if he’s losing or winning.

Tyson could have protected lead in last round+ job done, if the scoring was made public during the fight.

The match was even on the night there should be more draw in boxing and MMA if there is no definite winner.
