I was thinking of the orange chips and cod roe they have in the Midlands

I'd never heard of either of them until a few years ago

A fish supper as opposed to fish & chips in Scotland

It is a fish pie, pastry top, usually with a couple of varieties of fish in it where the fish still have their heads on which stick up through the pastry. They are said to be gazing at the stars hence the name. Typical Cornish fish will be used such as pilchard (sardine), horse mackerel, herring. Very tasty.
