Being asked on a date

The question is where in the real world away from fab have you been asked for a date/meet and not just sex.

Pub, club, shop, supermarket, work or do people never ever approach you(no matter how clumsily)

It's great that you're still approached in real situations like gigs and dancing.

I've talked to the women at work and they say it's a dying art unless alcohol is involved and that men don't come and say hi in many other situations

I haven't been asked on a date for about three hundred years. If you move in the circles I do people assume you're married or just looking for sex. Mr N and I go on dates with each other but we don't have to ask.

I don't get approached cold, I just meet people at gigs and dances and get chatting to them.

You could explain that you're not looking for a phone relationship and you're deleting his number.

Life's short,

Make it happen and ask a woman you fancy out on a date rather than relying on a woman having to ask you.

If you don't buy a raffle ticket you'll never win a prize.

Yes seriously. It was a long time ago before 'pull a pig' was a thing. I can't remember exactly what he said (and I don't want to remember) but basically his mate said I looked ugly so he bet him to ask me out. I think I was about 19. I was naïve and didn't know people could be cruel.

I’ve NEVER been asked out on a vanilla date .. ever!

I’ve always been the one that’s done the asking and given my social awkwardness in my teens and twenties that translates to not a lot of (non-Fab!) ‘first dates’ in my life.

That’s partly why I’m on here I think, I’ve had more ‘first dates’ on here than in normal life. Crazy when I think about it!
