My employer has shied away from a full company “do” because numbers started to fall. Now they let each department have a budget of £500 to cover whatever they want to do.theres ten of us in my department and two guys aren’t interested so that’s £62.50 per head.

So my lot have decided on a piss up and a curry. We will finish early on Friday 14th go on a pub crawl then whoever is left standing ends up in a curry house.

I have a company credit card so I’m left to sign for everything, I hope I don’t lose the receipts otherwise I’m in trouble!

I’m not a fan of an organised “do” at a hotel or somewhere but do enjoy socialising with my colleagues.

I like mine. I get to dress up in a pretentious fashion, I have a good giggle with the boys on my team and I work with a whole bunch of pretty women.

Depends on the company I work for, I've been to some good black tie ones with past companies in ballrooms at places like the Royal Armouries and some crap ones in back rooms at pubs. I'm going to the one at my current company this year as I fancy someone there

I'll miss my gym job Christmas do, as I'll be in Manchester, at the Lounge Social.

Another jobs party I'll miss because I'll be working my bar job, and the bar job...

We don't have our party night until January!

Are you also banning mobiles at this ‘do’ to avoid the aforementioned trouble ie being teased by colleagues who aren’t as inebriated?

I dislike them intensely and stopped going years ago. I socialise regularly with the colleagues I like anyway.

The reasons are that I often found I was the only person trying to mingle, everyone else tended to stick in their departmental groups and enforced jollity makes me grumpy

We work closely anyway and get on really well, we're going out round some bars together after the work do. I don't think anything will happen and I won't be pulling any moves on her, I don't even think I'm her type, all I'm saying is if there's some spark there after a few drinks I won't fight it

I have two and both involve copious amounts of alcohol in central London. All fun and games till you realise you missed the last train home and your taxi will set you back £80 if your lucky.

Other than trying to get home and the ridiculous prices of cl drinks I usual have a blast.

Mind I don't really know how not to have fun when I'm out socialising.

I never go to my works Christmas do, i never go to any of my works social events. They just get very d*unk, vomit, go home. Seems pointless to me. I occasionally socialise with the people i actually like there.

Id rather spend money socialising with people i actually like.

I've been to the NYE Royal Armouries one with 5 course meal and three turns (meatloaf, Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson) and it is a great night there.

I (Mr) now avoid them, for years I had to attend various parties throughout the month of December and as I don't drink (well no more than one) there was nothing worse than being in the company of a load of people who are by the end of the night pretty much legless. I used to leave once people stopped making sense and started to find the most puerile of things funny.
