Bit of a misleading title, I'm interested in wether or not you love your job. I've been in mine now long enough that it drives me crazy and for the last month I've been looking around for something new and applying for things I've seen.

When I first started my job I was confident I would always enjoy it and that there was always room for advancement if I started to feel like it was dead ending. Now I'm not even interested in advancement, I literally want to change enployers and maybe careers with it.

Do any of you love your jobs and what keeps you there and keeps you happy? It might be personal relationships with customers or colleagues or you just love the work. I'm interested to know plus I've found me a sneaky corner to pass some time in

"Love my job

Hate my boss"

I think it's a prerequisite to hate your boss. I think possibly when being hired as a boss there might be a part in your contract which stipulates that you must have all your employees hate you lol

Those very few bosses that are dead on seem to be a dying breed

My boss likes to rake around, or so he let's on, and when he takes the piss and you take the piss back his favourite line is "remember son, I can make your life very difficult". What a prick

"I've got two, one of them I love the salary but not the job, the other one I love the job but the salary is just pocket money (although has shot up since promotion!)"

That's another thing, it gets harder and harder now to find a job paying the right wages or else the cost of living is increasing quicker than people salaries and it's becomes essential for some to find a second job. I worked 2 myself for years prior to this most recent job and that was just to be able to pay my bills and enjoy a drink at the weekend and the odd hoilday.

The second job, like you, I loved. It was in a zoo but unfortunately there was never any more than a couple of days work a week available so I couldn't move in there full time as I'd have loved.

I thought about the army in the past but was never serious enough about it so I didn't go for it. I've kicked myself multiple times since then. As you say, courses galore and earning while keeping fit and making lifelong pals. Not to mention helping rebuild live depending on where you served. It was the taking lives part that put me off.

I've been in over 3 years now and haven't had to fire a shot in anger, some of the guys in my unit have been in for 20 years or more and still haven't and that's including doing HERRICK and TELIC tours, it really depends on the cap badge you join

I had looked at the Royal Irish guards. My friend joined up and ended up in arghan within 6 months and came under fire in Helmand. He was hunkered down behind a wall and a ricochet struck his elbow and diverted up his arm. Not a particularly serious injury thankfuly and now all he does is recruit in Holywood barracks. My luck though, what I'm getting at is there are guys that go years without seeing combat and guys who get involved right away, I never thought to look anywhere other than infantry because I thought I would make a good soldier... But I thought long and hard and decided I didn't want to put myself in a position where I might have to kill someone. I've watched Dexter, I might have liked it and gotten good at it lol

She's a diamond. Her previous job was working with Alzheimer's patients and it was killing her but this job sees people getting better and leaving to carry on with their lives...A much better prognosis. My job is great and has the added bonus of a free night out when the fair's in town. I was one of a party of nine when we went to the firework championships we have down here (amazing two nights every year if anyone fancies making a trip with more than one purpose) and we were fed and watered by some caterers I've done jobs for, rode any rides we wanted on the ground for the three hours before the first big bang, watched nearly an hour of the best explosions you'll see in the night sky and all for zero pounds...A perfect night for a big kid (at heart).
