I can never really understand why someone feels the need to interject that way. Of it's not something one does, don't comment, it saves making oneself look like a complete bore.

Why? You know what we didn't have when I was ten, full scale internet access. Yet here we are, enjoying it.

Rant over.

I'm intrigued by Red Dead Redemption 2, going to wait for a bit though.

Not had a games machine in over 30years. The racing game that came with it was fine but went to CEX and bought a 2nd hand version of Fallout (online recommend) for £5 and its huge and stunning. I limit myself as it could take over your life.

Games haven't been aimed at kids for a long time, ones like Red Dead Redemption 2, The Last Of Us and The Witcher have very adult themes, brilliant stories and now with technology being as it is the visuals to back them up. Many games now are better than books or Hollywood movies.

Agreed, but games are for children, not adults in our book.

Wasting days looking at dots on a screen is hardly a good use of the short time we have on this earth.

Its one of the main reasons for the death of many relationships and hardly a redeeming feature.

Mind you so is Social media but that's another thing we choose not to do.

Not going to rise to the 'games are just for kids' nonsense.

To quote George Bernard Shaw: "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing"

I'm usually too busy, to sit and play (software) games, although I bought a Samsung SSD recently and got Assassins Creed Odessey, free. Decided to give it a fair trial.

Enoying it a lot more than I expected - loving the graphics quality and overall gameplay.

Only other thing I sometimes play, when I've got half an hour to kill, is Overwatch. It can get boring/samey quickly though.

We have a monthly games Munch, down the local pub (usually CAH), which is all adults - very sociable, very irreverant and a lot of fun.

Its one of the main reasons for the death of many relationships and hardly a redeeming feature.

Mind you so is Social media but that's another thing we choose not to do.

Do you also find reading books to be a waste of our short time on this earth? After all, it's just a bunch of squiggles on paper

But at least they add some value in the form of knowledge.

Games like the Total War series are full of knowledge on whatever period of history they are set in, as are many of the more serious WW2 real time strategy games etc..."

Just like to add

Games like chess, GO or card games improve memory.

Credit cards use gaming principles to get people to use them. Games effect the world so much more than people realise.

"Poke her

We don’t do gaming as we aren’t 10,

To be fair I wouldn't expect people of your age to be playing games. They weren't invented when you were growing up.

Yes but at least we actually have.

Try living in the real world for a change.

Some have the ability to do both

Agreed, but games are for children, not adults in our book.

Wasting days looking at dots on a screen is hardly a good use of the short time we have on this earth.
