I'm shite at having my photo taken. Since I was a kid I've been camera shy.

Need some tips on how you guys get some decent pics. Heard black and white is handy....

Don’t just photograph the tip, it gives no context or scale! Try to get the whole thing in frame, if you are going to engage in such practices. Plus, a can of beer or sky remote seem to be the standard fab meaurement tools and almost compulsory.

You dont have to put your face in them. Its easy to be less camera shy if you dont worry about your expression. Take loads of body pics, pick your favourite, crop it and slap a black and white filter on it. Very artistic then

There and to the left a bit

There's any number of things you can do:

- Check other guys pics for ideas of things that might work for you

- Come up with an idea and plan it out rather than just randomly snapping away

- Learn how to use the timer/voice activation feature on your phone's camera

- Either invest in a cheap tripod/device to support your phone, or find things you can prop it on.

- Take lots of pics of the same poses and be prepared to delete most of them

- Learn how to use the most basic photo editing software that comes with your phone to crop and do things like add black and white filters

- Have fun doing it

There was a very good thread a while back posted by TogNMuse who have some excellent pics and passed on their advice for good pics:
