Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there ....

Just been playing my old Motown Chartbusters, and I really love this track.

First heard it at a fairground in early 70's blasting out on the dodgems

Anyone else remember it?

The funny thing is Taylor was never a Motown artist in the 'pure sense'....he was signed to an affiliated Motown label and sneaked in through the back door....music wise.

But still liked some of his stuff.

You always heard the best music at the fairground, usually on the waltzers.

I'm not a big motown fan as my parents weren't really into it. I do remember Tthere's a ghost in my house' though, that was great.

The greatest fairground track ever for me though is Lets go round again, Average white band

The only Motown albums I've ever had are the Chartbuster.

I used to have 1-6 but since cd's became popular I've sold all my vinyl and have got them on cd.

The Motown Chartbuster series goes to 10 now

i like the marvin gaye tammi terrell duets,'aint nothing like the real thing','you aint livin till your lovin' and 'aint no mountain high enough'which was originally written for dusty springfield.

tammi collapsed onstage singing with marvin in 1970 and died just weeks later with a brain tumour just before her 25th birthday, she had been suffering from the brain tumour since a young girl with the migraines and headaches.

My fave R Dean Taylor track is a later one from 1975 on Polydor, "Window Shopping". Fave Motown track is a harder decision, but "Leaving Here" by Eddie Holland takes some beating for me. (Not your usual motown sound though)

Talking of the Contours Jack, I'm sure you would agree their version of Do you love me, (Dirty dancing) was better than the beatles.
